Q: Do you have any advise to a new blogger?
A: Well, first of all I think it’s important to find a niche, for instance fashion, food, health and so on. You can of course write about whatever you want, but I think it’s important to have a clear image of what you want your blog to be when you start. Also, don’t have too high expectations in the beginning, just work hard to make your blog a cool place to visit, and readers will come. So many of my friends have started blogging, then after a week they give up because they didn’t have 10.000 readers every day. Haha. So, be patient :) I also think it’s important, especially in the beginning, to update frequently. Try to post every day.
Q: I have a hard time believing in true love and all of that, and I know you have been with your boyfriend for a long time.. What I’m wondering is if you are as in love with him as you were a few years ago or if it has faded a little? You’re beautiful as always Catherine!
A: I think I’m falling more and more in love every single day to be honest. If you have a hard time believing in true love, maybe you simply haven’t met the right guy yet? Me and my boyfriend respect each other a lot, and we always have fun together. We do little things for one another all the time, and we make sure that we both get enough privacy and time to hang out with friends, so that the time we actually do spend together is precious. Now that we live together we obviously see each other all the time, and I love it! I don’t know, we just click, and work really well together :)
Q: What kind of makeup do you use??? why can’t you make a makeup video please??? i always think of your makeup every time i try to put my makeup on. please show us or take pictures?? :)
A: Lately I haven’t used a lot of makeup actually, at least for daytime. After discovering the lash curler I don’t use mascara unless I’m dressing up. I use foundation, either Dior or Tromborg’s mineral powder, concealer, bronzing powder, blush, lash curler and lipgloss. When I’m dressing up I use brown or plummy eyeshadows, dip liner, mascara and false individual lashes. I’ll try to make a video real soon :)
Q: Are you happy ? :)
A: Yes, I’m super happy!! I love my life, I wouldn’t have it any other way :)
Q: Where do you get your inspiration?
A: Earlier I didn’t have an exact inspiration source, but now I find a lot of inspo on Pinterest. I love that site, I can spend hours and hours looking at pictures there.
Q: Do you have a job? / where do you get money to buy your beautiful clothes?
A: I blog, write fashion articles for Side2 and I write a shopping column for a newspaper :) I’m very lucky because I almost don’t have any expenses. I live in my apartment for free, and my only expenses are food and.. Clothes, haha. So I’m very lucky that way, and it makes it possible to spend more money on clothes than if I for instance had to pay thousands in rent every month.
Q: Don’t you get sometimes depress to live in Bergen where its always cold and raining (and not a great selection of shops around;))??
A: Hell to the yes! When it’s sunny here it’s my fave place to be, but when it’s raining every day I seriously get depressed. It’s amazing how much a little sunny weather can do to your mood! But it’s also cosy sometimes, with all the rain, as long as it’s just a day or two, not like 10 weeks. The fact that there aren’t a lot of shops here doesn’t bother me that much, I usually shop mostly online anyway :)
Q: Are you planning to move in the future?
A: If I’m going to live in Norway I definitely want to stay in Bergen, but I would love to live a few years in New York, or somewhere sunny.
Q: What is your favourite shop?
A: Online it’s Asos and Nelly, and I love Topshop and Zara!
Q: I am always wondering if people are staring at you wearing such high heels during daytime? I mean I love my platforms but I could never wear them out unless I am clubbing. I live in a big city but people look at me in a way that makes me feel so uncomfortable.
A: I actually totally block out stares when I’m walking in heels. Otherwise I’m just so stressed out! Just walk confidently and with dignity, then it’s no problem. That’s what my grandmother told me :)
Q: Which camera do you use (the name of it) ? And which program do you edit your pictures in?
A: Canon Eos 600D with the 50mm lense. I love it! I edit my pictures in Pixlr.
Q: Which role were you in high school? (like the geek, popular girl etc)
A: The high school I went to was really relaxed, and there was no hierarchy if I can put it that way. I guess I was just a totally normal girl, having fun and concentrating on getting good results :)
Q: When is your next trip to US ?
A: This fall. I’m going with my bestie Amalie, then with my cousin Fride. So excited! Both of the trips are to New York, but I really want to visit California as well this year.
Q: Have you ever considered having plastic surgery? Perhaps in the future when you are old?(like botox etc) and which surgery?
A: No, I have not considered having any plastic surgery at all. I’ll never say never, but for now, there’s nothing I would like to change. Of course little things can bother me, but this is the way I was born, and I plan to stay this way :) If I’ll ever have botox? Possibly, I don’t know yet. But I don’t consider that plastic surgery though. I imagine that in twenty years, when it’s time to consider it, there’s lots of more research about it. Botox still scares me a bit, I don’t think it’s determined if it can be dangerous or not yet. But for now, no plans! :)
Q: what exercises do you do to keep your stomach in shape?
A: I do sit ups on a pilates ball a couple of times a week, and I make sure to lean really far back on the ball so that it really hurts getting up. Super effective! But when it comes to stomachs, I think the most important thing is your diet. What is it that they say; “Abs are made 70% in the kitchen“?
Q: Who is you biggest role model?
A: My grandmother, without a doubt.
Q: Do you have a good relationship with your family?
A: Absolutely. My family has always been incredibly close, and I see them every day. I’ve been blessed with the best family!
Q: What is the most expensive piece of clothing you own? How much did it cost and what is it?
A: I usually don’t spend that much money on clothes.. Bags, on the other hand. But I think it might be my Valentino rain coat, which was about 6000kr I think.
Q: Have you ever been to Finland or Italy? :)
A: Not Finland, but I was in Italy about 12 years ago. Jeez, I need to go back!! I was actually invited to go for free, but I declined. Darnit, why did I do that…?
Q: If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?
A: Good question! I would probably share with my family first, then just save it. I don’t think it’s healthy for a person to suddenly become a multi-millionaire over night, and I can imagine that it’s easy to loose yourself in the middle of the money bags.
Q: Do people criticize something about you?
A: Not to my face at least, haha. So I don’t know :)
Q: What is your greatest weakness and strength?
A: My greatest weakness must be that I can be pretty lazy, haha. I’m like “Well, there’s always tomorrow, and all the days after that” when something needs to be done. My greatest strength must be that I’m always able to stay positive and hold my head high, no matter what life throws at me.
Q: Are you easy to talk to? You seem really open and sweet.
A: Thank you. Yes, I definitely think I am. I’m usually the person who blurts out questions and topics, mostly because I’m really interested in what other people have to say. Sometimes I just won’t shut it.
Q: How do you stay positive?
A: As I wrote in the Norwegian answers, I’m really fascinated by the power we have over our own thoughts. Whenever something bad happens, I’m like “Can I go back in time and make this not happen? No. Will anything good come out of me constantly thinking about it? No.”, then I just make the negative thought disappear, and focus on the positive things. I accept bad things, but I don’t give it more thought than I have to. Life is so much more fun and easy if you just focus on all the positive things in life. Nothing good comes out of contemplating too much over negativities.
Q: How do you get over the death of a dear person?
A: First of all, I don’t think you get over it, I think you learn to live with it. Like I also wrote in the Norwegian answers, I think you can either be depressed for the rest of your life because of the loss, or you can focus on how incredibly lucky you’ve been to have had this dear person in your life for as long as you have. I know it’s ‘easy’ for me to say, as my grandmother got really old, and we all got a chance to say our goodbyes. We spent the entire last week of her life with her, singing to her, pampering her, telling her how much we love her. So it was all very peaceful. I think that’s what makes me able to actually think positive thoughts, even though it’s incredibly hard still. If someone close was teared away from me in other circumstances, I don’t know how I would’ve reacted though. I really don’t even want to think about it.
Q: How do you maintain things fresh with your boyfriend?
A: We always do nice things for each other, and we always show each other how much we love one another. I think it’s so important to remember how much ‘little things’ matter, even if he’s just bought a chocolate for me on his way home from school. Support, respect, trust and love is very important :)
Q: In what do you splurge/save?
A: I definitely splurge in bags! I don’t even want to think about how much money I’ve spent on bags over the last years. But I mean, I wear them every single day, so I think it’s fine. I usually save in shoes, I don’t know why. And also in clothes. I have a pretty budget friendly wardrobe, if you don’t consider the bags. It’s nice balance I think :)
